Corporations Cutting Carbon Emissions

As people take steps towards reducing their carbon footprint we start to see corporations doing the same. Doing many things like using solar energy, turning off certain lights or even wind energy the steps that can be taken are endless. Intel Corp is one corporation that has longed to reduce their carbon emissions and now they are taking action.

What they are doing is buying renewable energy credits. What this does is the company pays for a certain land to be used solely for means of renewable energy. This way by them paying for that they are compensating for the footprint that they leave behind. The amount that they purchased is by far the largest that any company has yet to make and represents 1.3 million megawatt hours which is the equivalent of taking 185,000 cars off  of the road or enough to power an average of 130,000 homes a year.

You may think that buying credits is the easy way out but the amount that companies buy really helps to make a difference. Lets hope to see other big corporations make huge contributions towards either solar energy or some sort of renewable energy.
