YISHU EARTH QUAKE DONATION

The death toll had risen to 2,064 with 175 people still missing after a magnitude-6.9 quake razed 85 per cent of the buildings in Jiegu, the main urban centre of Yushu county, on April 14. The quake left 12,135 injured, including 1,434 in serious condition. The earthquake also killed 40,879 head of livestock, or about 8% of the area's total.
